LAZ is interested in ideas, actions, playing, learning, collaboration, exchange and dialogue, and in projects which will use the Autonomous Zone as a test bed for sketches, drafts, improvisations, explorations and negotiations. The Autonomous Zone Is open to artists working in performance towards new outcomes.

LAZ cordially invites you to join us for a Performance Art collaboration between Shaun Caton and Weeks & Whitford
Inspired by Bosch’s triptych ‘The Garden Of Earthly Delights’ with its complex surreal and alchemical symbology and Gnostic interpretations of the story of Eden, this performance challenges the notion of Eve as a temptress. Here Eve is the first human, a benevolent teacher, newly conscious of mortality and bringing others into awareness.
The trio will construct images and ritualistic actions of disintegration and renewal, alienation and connection, and mortality. Gathering and interpreting data, decoding and problem solving alongside actions that convey mortality they will present knowledge as being held between the genders.
This immersive atmospheric work involves a rich aesthetic, durational performance, participation, a complex evolving installation, shadow play, and a sound score by Alice Kemp.
