Performance Platform is an Artist led project hosted by Open Ealing community Arts space in Ealing Broadway, West London.
Performance Platform is focused on delivering regular live performance Art events in London.
Although Performance Platform is focused on showcasing live Performance Art in London it is also a node in a national/international network of allies/collaborators and partners and a hub for peer to peer learning, research, networking and development.
We support new, experimental, and challenging Performance Art whilst winning wider audiences.
Our events are hosted in a welcoming, disabled accessible, safer space with gender neutral bathrooms.
Performance Platform is a diverse led organization, its directors and our team are LGBTQI, neuro – divergent, disabled and from mixed minority backgrounds and this lived experience informs our pragmatic grounded approach to addressing intersectional barriers to inclusion and participation.
Performance Platform was founded in 2020 by Rebecca Weeks and Ian Whitford as a response to the impact of the pandemic on the Performance Art community. Their first project ‘D I S T A N C E D’ delivered the only Covid secure live performance art events in London during 2020.
Weeks & Whitford are internationally active performance Artists and organisers. Recent performances highlights include: Horse Donkey Club, London 2021, Galerie Kub, Leipzig, 2019, Resist festival Vienna, 2019, FNAF festival of Naked Forms, Prague, 2019, Tempting Failure, commissioned Artists 2018.
They co- founded and co-directed artist led organisation and project space Cornwall Autonomous Zone (CAZ) with Andy Whall in Penzance, Cornwall 2010-2014. They were proud to be named by Artists newsletter as one of the top 100 UK Artist led projects.
